Sculpture I

Within this beneficial course, Contemporary Sculptural Practices One, I learned about the wide range of possibilities that sculpture entails. As a painter, I was not sure that this was the right place for me; however, after creating my first project, I recognized immediately that my painting practice was getting stronger due to it's associations with sculpture. That said, my strengths within this course included my background in painting while my weaknesses revolved around my lack of knowledge about sculpture going into the course.

Regarding my process for creation, each piece largely began with a conversation with both my peers and professor to brainstorm a plan and/or idea for each project. After the idea was established, each piece began with and moved forward from sketches, construction, painting, and presentation (lighting).

Below, I have included a few images of artwork that I had completed during this course.
